First dial the pager number assigned to the Patients Pager. You will hear a series of "beeps". Punch in the number you would like to send and then press the # key on the phone. Pressing the # key finishes the page and makes it transmit quicker but is not required. You should then hear another series of "beeps" signaling that the page has been transmitted to the Patients Pager, then hang up. That's all there is to it. As far as what number to page the patient with, it usually is kind of a personal thing. Some people page with their zip code or birth date. Others page with some numbers that mean something special to both them and the patient. Still others page pieces of scripture such as Psalms 30-2 "O Lord my God, I cried out to you, and you healed me" would be the 19th book, the 30th chapter, the second verse or 19*30*2.
